Live Blogging vs. Blogging Later

I really hate lugging a computer around at conferences.  Maybe that means I need to get a lighter weight computer or some sort of Internet gadget, but there you have it.  The upshot is I'm not much on live blogging.  I prefer the old-fashioned method of taking notes by hand and transcribing later.

I understand how inefficient this is.  I've also just experienced the reality of how unlikely I am to follow-through on actual blogging like this.  Oh, I have good intentions at the conference.  I'm excited by the free-flow of ideas and information, and I want to share my thoughts.

I really want to.

Factor in a long trip home, work waiting for my attention, and a post-conference energy slump, and of course I'll never blog nearly as much as I intend.

I've just posted a few items on Computers & Writing.  I have many, many more notes.  I'll try to write them up along and along, but I make no promises.  Summer school has already started.

Live blogging definitely is the way to go...if you can just stand the shoulder cramps from carting the laptop around all day.
